Golden Globe Race just passed 50-day milestone few days ago, and already three of the competitors have quit, two of them being moved to Chichester class and one moved to Carozzo class. There’s still 12 participants who keep on racing against the rough oceans, and Finnish Tapio Lehtinen is one of them.
Tapio has had some problems with his ship’s electricity. At the moment the ship’s solar panels only generate 5% of the amount they should and the water generator has been malfunctioning. According to Tapio’s weekly satellite call on August 22nd, the water generator has been fixed for now. Despite these technical issues, Tapio is determined to continue the race! You can listen Tapio’s satellite call below.
